Northern Kentucky Law Review
Editor in Chief
Dear Associate Editors,
On behalf of the Editorial Board, I would like to welcome you to the Northern Kentucky Law Review. Law review is one of the highest honors any law student can achieve and provides a great opportunity to develop the research and writing skills that all lawyers must have.
This manual provides general information about law review and most of the information you will need to begin writing your Student Note. The Editorial Board will distribute additional information when necessary, but please keep this manual on hand throughout the summer and upcoming academic year. In the fall, we will provide you with a NKLR “Citation Manual” and additional training to guide you through the subciting process.
Another source for law review information is our TWEN site. There you will find our Bylaws, Master Calendar, staff hours, class outlines, and other relevant information. You will also find forums for discussion of various topics.
Most importantly, the Editorial Board is one of your best resources for guidance on law review. I highly encourage everyone to communicate and collaborate closely with the Editorial Board through meetings, phone calls, e-mail, or TWEN. Effective communication is essential for any organization and it will be especially important during the writing and subciting processes.
The NKLR will publish three issues – General Law, and two symposia issues. The fall symposium will cover the legal developments in Cyber Security. The spring symposium will cover Children’s Law issues.
For many of you, this year will be one of the most challenging and productive times of your life. You will have the opportunity to write, edit, and potentially publish a scholarly article. You will learn to critically evaluate and improve your own writing and that of other authors through the subciting process. Remember that the Editorial Board is here to help you in any way we can.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, or any other Editorial Board members, with any questions or concerns throughout the year. Again, welcome to the Northern Kentucky Law Review. I look forward to working with each of you.
